Camrin Petramale is a

working across narrative films, commercials, and branded content. A member of IATSE Local 600 since 2013, and recipient of the ICG Emerging Cinematographer Award.

Camrin has shot eleven feature films, including The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain--executive produced by Morgan Freeman--which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.

Camrin approaches cinematography as a balance of creative instinct and technical precision. His work begins with understanding the story and collaborating with the director to develop a visual language that feels intentional. He values strong preproduction, and enjoys working closely with directors, producers, and department heads to turn creative ideas into practical plans; every technical choice should serve the story, and not simply produce a collection of beautiful images.

Camrin is solution-oriented and is quick to solve problems on the fly. When a location changes, time disappears, or an unexpected opportunity presents itself on set, Camrin is comfortable adapting quickly and finding solutions that protect the creative intent, while respecting the realities of schedule, location, and budget.

Above all, Camrin is drawn to filmmakers who care deeply about what they are making. He believes the strongest images come from collaboration, curiosity, and a crew invested in telling the same story.

Camrin lives in Chicago with his wife, two sons, his Blue Heeler, Bo, and Pitsky, Winnie. Away from set, he can usually be found outdoors, kayaking, barbecuing, tending to his latest sourdough, or indulging in his lifelong obsession with Star Wars.
