I am a Chicago/Los Angeles Cinematographer who focuses on independent feature films, commercials, and branded content. I have been a member of the Local 600 since 2013, and I was the recipient of the 2013 Emerging Cinematographer Award from the ICG. My blend of creative flair and technical expertise are my signature on every project I shoot. I have both television and feature credits, and I pride myself on my ability to transform the words from a script into something tangible. My role as a Cinematographer is bringing the director’s vision to life using the tools and technology at my disposal.
I recently completed my 11th feature film as Director of Photography. One of my recent films, The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain, was executive produced by Morgan Freeman and was an Independent Spirit Award nominee.
I am the co-founder/owner of Light Modifiers Rental, a lighting equipment rental house, and am a managing partner of Eleven04 Rentals in Chicago, IL. I know how crucial the role of light is in a DPs work, so I recently created a learning series, “Learn with LMR”, where I help break down the elements of lighting (Add the link to this in parenthesis).
I live in Chicago with my wife and two young sons (and my Blue Heeler, Bo). In my free time, I enjoy all things Star Wars, barbecue, and outdoors.
