Camrin Petramale is a Cinematographer who focuses on independent feature films and branded content. Camrin prides himself on his ability to transform the words from a script and create something tangible. He sees his role as a Cinematographer in bringing his director’s vision to life using the tools and technology at his disposal. Camrin’s blend of creative flair and technical expertise are his signature in every project he shoots.
Camrin has shot 9 feature length films, and his latest, The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain, won the Audience Award and the Jury Award at the Austin Film Festival. Since 2013, Camrin has been a member of the Local 600 and was recently listed on the Industry Experience Roster with Director of Photography classification. He was the recipient of the 2013 Emerging Cinematographer Award from the ICG.
Camrin is co-owner of Light Modifiers Rental, a lighting equipment rental house in Chicago. Camrin firmly believes in the role of light in a DPs work, and recently created a learning series, “Learn with LMR”, where he helps break down the elements of lighting to educate and inform fellow filmmakers.
Camrin lives in Chicago with his wife and two young sons.
